Terrorism, corruption, and bad governance are all similar crimes: Dr. Tahirul Qadri

Pakistan Awami Tehreek Chairman Dr. Tahirul Qadri has said that terrorism, corruption, mismanagement and bad governance are similar crime and this Ramazan the burden on the poor people of the country has increased manifold.

He said if the rulers cannot provide the basic facilities like electricity, unemployment, water and justice to the masses then the rulers should resign. Talking to former foreign minister of Pakistan Sardar Asif Ahmed Ali, the PAT Chairman said that the blame and cases of the deaths in Karachi have ended up due to ‘politics of compromise’. Dr. Hassan Mohiyuddin Qadri, Dr. Raheeq Abbasi, Sheikh Zahid Fayyaz, Qazi Faizul Islam and Raja Zahid were also present during the meeting.

Dr. Tahirul Qadri said that corruption, terrorism and energy crisis have hit the very roots of the country and the Supreme Court has called for corruption cases that have come to surface in the last two years. He said that Operation Zarb-e-Azb has progressed and milestones have been achieved. He further remarked that corruption should also be rooted out on a war footing.

He said that the government has failed to implement the National Action Plan as the rulers are not sincere in its implementation and are supportive of terrorist activities. He said that the mindset of terrorism has to be changed and the seminaries bred terrorists. He said the government handed over the NAP to the military and got busy in collecting commissions by building roads, metro buses and bridges. He said this negligence on part of the government has sabotaging the NAP.

Talking about the Model Town tragedy, Dr. Tahirul Qadri said that the civil society, intellectuals, journalists, social and political people must raise their voice against this state-sponsored and state-monitored terrorism. He said everyone should play their due role in apprehending the culprits and providing justice to the families of those who were killed by police in the Model Town incident.

Sardar Asef Ahmed Ali said that he had supported Dr. Tahirul Qadri in the past and would continue to support him in the future. He said the survival of the country is based on implementation of law and by following the constitution.

  1. Also a serious crime when a learned man like Tahir Ul Qadri says "He need blood for revolution and blood was what he got of innocent followers".
