Punjab Police arrests Imran Khan’s nephews for allegedly beating a fellow cop

Two nephews of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan were arrested for allegedly threatening and manhandling a traffic policeman on Wednesday.

As per reports Azeem Khan and Abdullah Khan, nephews of the PTI chief, were on their way to play a football match when a traffic warden Shakeel stopped them for not wearing the seat belt near Zaman Park. The youths were unable to show their driving license and other documents and requested the warden to let them go. They also told the police warden that Imran Khan was their maternal uncle at which a heated argument broke out between the two. On being verbally abused the warden with the help of other policemen started beating Abdullah Khan. At this Azeem Khan also got involved in the scuffle.

The warden later lodged a complaint with the Race Course police which arrested both accused and registered an FIR against them for obstructing official work and threatening an officer of the law.

Sources told Pakistan Today that Imran Khan’s other nephew Hassaan Niazi was also involved in the incident but his name was not included in the FIR registered by the police.
