Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain has said that conspiracies are being hatched to weaken his party but these plots will come to nothing like the past.

“I am confident that we will emerge victorious,” Hussain told the office-bearers of different wings of the MQM at Nine Zero on the occasion of Amir Khan’s release.

He congratulated Amir Khan and praised him for his determination. “You have demonstrated that determination of MQM workers cannot be shaken by the hardships of jail. I pay tribute to you and each and every worker of the MQM in jail for facing difficulties and testing times.”

He said a web of conspiracy was being knitted against the MQM, and party office-bearers were forced to leave their homes. “If they come to their homes due to any urgency, police and rangers immediately arrest them and implicate them in blind FIRs. They are tortured in custody for obtaining confessional statements of their choice,” he said.

Altaf Hussain appealed to the Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and other rights organisations to take notice of the torturing of MQM workers in custody. He said after the Jinnahpur allegation a new series of false allegations were being leveled against the MQM. He said those who were leveling false allegations against his party would be shamed one day.
