Two robbers were killed in an alleged police encounter near Kot Pindi Das in the wee hours on Tuesday.
District Police Officer (DPO) Suhail Zafar Chattha flanked by other police officers said that on a lead of an under custody accused, the Factory area police were going to arrest his accomplices when some unidentified car riders fired shots at the police van near Kot Pindi Das to which police retaliated.
As a result, two robbers identified as Waliullah and Faisal received bullet injuries and died on the spot while their four accomplices managed to flee.
Waliullah and Faisal belonged to Karkhana Bazaar, Peshawar, and Chattha colony, Sheikhupura, respectively. The killed robbers were wanted by police in robbery, kidnap, murder and other heinous crimes.
