Intelligence agencies and Lahore Police carried out a joint raid following a tip-off regarding the presence of terrorists in the Kala Shah Kaku area early Monday.

An intelligence agency’s official told Pakistan Today that the joint raid was carried out after they received information about the likely presence of terrorists in the area.

A senior police official told this scribe that when the law enforcement agencies reached the spot, one of the terrorists blew himself up. “I cannot tell the exact number of terrorists who are present in the area. But they are around three to six at least,” he added.

As many as four militants were killed in crossfire while two of them were arrested till the filing of this report.

“It will be too early to predict the affiliation of the terrorists,” another official of the intelligence agency said, adding that additional police deployment had been asked for.
