- Apex Committee meeting also decides to provide financial assistance to surrendering Baloch youths
- Balochistan to have zero tolerance for terrorists and subversive elements
The government of Balochistan on Friday announced general amnesty for Baloch youths laying down their weapons and abandoning violence in the province.
The decision to this effect was made during the apex committee meeting chaired by Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch.
Commander Southern Command Lt Gen Nasir Khan Janjua, Balochistan Home Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Inspector General Frontier Corps (FC), Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani and other high ups attended the meeting.
The meeting thoroughly discussed the law and order situation and recent surrenders by some militants in the province, said an official statement after the meeting on Thursday evening.
The meeting decided to provide financial assistance to militant youths abandoning violent acts against the state. The government has made this decision in the aftermath of surrender of around one hundred militants across the province earlier this month.
It was decided during the meeting that the reconciliation policy would be implemented in the province. The committee also decided to take stern action against terrorists and subversive elements in light of implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP) in the province.
A sense of security prevails among the people after better coordination between law enforcement agencies, the meeting observed.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Customs, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and police would probe into funding and resources being used for terrorist activities in the province, the apex committee decided.
Religious seminaries would be registered through the education department in the province. It may be mentioned that the Industries Department Balochistan has already registered more than 2,000 madrassas in the province.
