Four alleged criminals killed in encounter in Lyari

Four suspects were killed in an encounter with Kalri police in Lyari area of the metropolis in the wee hours of Thursday.

Kalri police team claimed that they raided LasbelaBridge near Lyari Expressway on a tip-off where four alleged criminals were hiding. The police said seeing them the criminals opened fire on them which was also retaliated. They said that after crossfire for some time, four alleged criminals were killed, who were aged between 27 and 36.

Police said the alleged criminals belonged to comrade group of Lyari gangsters. The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities and later shifted to Edhi morgue.

Police also recovered two Kalashanikovs, four hand grenades, two magazines, and some looted goods from the possession of accused.

THREE KILLED, TWO INJURED IN VIOLENCE

Three people including a woman were killed and two others injured in different incidents of violence in the metropolis on Thursday.

According to rescue sources, a 30-year-old woman was killed with a sharp knife by unidentified men near PNT in Lakhnow Society area of the city. The body was shifted to to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) for an autopsy.

Separately, rescue sources said they had found the eight-day-old body of unidentified man, aged about 38, from Manghopir area. The victim was strangulated to death and then his body dumped in said area. It was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for an autopsy.

Three days old body of an unknown woman was recovered from her home at Behram Chowk in Machar Colony Maripur. It was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities.

An 18-year-old boy, Arsalan, son of Salman, resident of Surjani, was shot and injured by unknown armed men in Surjani Bus Stop of Shah Baig Goth. He was rushed to ASH for treatment.

Yet in another incident, a man, Muhammad Siddique, 50, son of Methal was injured by unidentified gunmen at Khaadi Stop in Awami Colony, Korangi. He was brought to JPMC for treatment.

FOUR KILLED IN VARIOUS INCIDENTS

Four people were killed in different incidents in the metropolis on Thursday.

According to rescue sources, an unidentified man and a woman were hit by a speeding car. As a result, the man was killed and the wowan injured near Bilal Chowrangi in Korangi in the wee hours of today. The body and injured were shifted to JinnahPostgraduateMedicalCenter for medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively.

Separately, a rescue source said that a 28-year-old woman, Sameena, was killed in a road accident near Chamra Chorangi in Korangi. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for an autopsy.

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old unidentified man was killed when a speeding train hit him at Star Gate Station. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for autopsy. The victim could not be identified till filing this report. The body of a drowned man was found from sea along Hawkesbay area. It was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi.
