KARACHI:

Commerce Minister Khurram Dastgir announced that two power plants of 2100 megawatts will be set up in Karachi to overcome loadshedding, according to Radio Pakistan.

Talking to a private news channel on Wednesday, he said that the power consumption in Pakistan had increased to 21,000 megawatts due to the heatwave.

The government has however made efforts to increase the power generation from 14,000 to 16,000 megawatts.
