Ramzan Package has relief for all: Shahbaz

Due to effective measures taken by the Punjab government, quality essential items are available to the people in Ramzan bazaars which are being visited by a large number of citizens, said Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif while reviewed the measures taken for provision of relief to the masses under Ramzan Package in a meeting held through video link at the Civil Secretariat on Tuesday.

The chief minister also issued instructions to the authorities and head of departments concerned for the provision of quality essential items, fruits and vegetables to the masses at reasonable rate in the bazaars as well as open market and bazaars.

Addressing the meeting, he said that masses are benefiting from the historic Ramzan Package of billions of rupees announced by the government.

He said that there is a need for continuous monitoring of Ramzan bazaars and provincial ministers, advisors and senior officials should pay regular visits to the bazaars. He said that foolproof security arrangements should be made in bazaars.

He said that there should not be any complaint of shortage of daily use items in the bazaars and necessary measures should be adopted for maintaining abundant supply of necessary commodities.

He said that substantial decrease has been made in the price of sugar through negotiations with sugar mill owners for the first time in the history of the province and sugar is available in Ramzan bazaars at Rs 52 per kg.

He said that action should be taken against the officials for being absent from duty in Ramzan bazaars.

The chief minister directed the additional chief secretary to visit the bazaars of Bhakkar, Khushab and Mianwali to review arrangements and take steps for further improvement where necessary.

β€œIt is part of my manifesto to provide relief to the people,” he said, adding that effective and timely steps taken by the government are yielding positive results and quality essential items are available in the bazaars as well as open market.
