Pakistan, the host of world’s largest refugee population from Afghanistan, has always been genuinely and sincerely concerned with the security situation of Afghanistan. Currently Pakistan is facilitating peace negotiations between Afghanistan’s High Peace Council and Taliban. Pakistan’s role in the reconciliation process is an appreciative and due initiative as this will encourage establishment of durable regional peace and stability. The Afghan government should also acknowledge and support Pakistan’s cooperation so that lasting peace with the inclusion of regional guarantees can be ensured. Elimination of violence, terrorism and extremism is a common goal of Pakistan and Afghanistan and it is hoped and prayed that they will succeed in it and achieve heavenly peace and prosperity for the masses.
