Power generation

Ramzan has begun and there is hue and cry of people all over Pakistan that power is cut during iftar and sehar times at most of the places. Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif is showing his chagrin at power failures during Ramzan. He has no one to blame except his own self in abject failure to initiate a single mega hydroelectric dam due to his studied silence over KBD. If he had the guts in his third time stint as prime minister, he could have confronted the anti KBD parties and convinced them of dire need of the dam but the dilly-dallying about the dam has made sure that is no consensus on the dam.

No serious effort has been made to build a consensus on the dam by projecting enlightened information about the dam. In fact, Mian sahib lacks foresight and steely determination. All his efforts are focused on expanding his business empire and the country can go to dogs in true sense of the word. Children of the poor people in South Punjab are being killed by dogs and the PML-N leadership does not bat an eye on such incidents unheard in the history of Pakistan.

Shedding crocodile tears or showing rage on load shedding in Ramzan is not enough. What is needed is a bold resolve to build the dam even with our own funds if none are available from outside. Let us stand on our own and become an independent country.
