Ifar, Sehri time! Police tightens security at entry and exit points

Senior Superintendent of Police (Operations) Islamabad, Sajid Kiani has directed to provide ‘Sehri and Iftari’ in time to those police officials who are performing duties at pickets so that they may accomplish their responsibility in an efficient and effective manner.

Reviewing security arrangements on Sunday in connection with Ramadan ul Mubarak, he said that IGP Islamabad Tahir Alam Khan has directed to tighten security at the exit and entry points of the city so that nefarious designs of mischievous elements can be foiled.

The SSP (Operations) directed all zonal SPs, DSPs and SHOs to have Iftar meal or refreshment with their subordinates performing duties at pickets. He said it would definitely encourage them to further perform their duties in an effective manner. No laxity in facilitating the subordinates will be tolerated, Sajid Kiani said, adding it would help in improving the security and performance.

He said that all police officials would have to remain alert especially at ‘Sehri and Iftari’ timings and also prayers and Taraveeh hours so that safety to faithful can be ensured.

Besides the measures to facilitate the policemen, the SSP (Operations) also focused on the friendly police ecology in the Capital and urged the cops performing duties at pickets to show decency in interaction with citizens.

He said that police would have to adopt practical approach to win confidence of citizens and the major step would be courteous attitude of cops with people. Sajid Kiani said that he would himself check duties at pickets and coordinated efforts will be ensured to eradicate street as well as other crimes.

He asked all SPs, SDPOs and SHOs to monitor strategy themselves to check crime and bring improvement in patrolling plan. He also directed to forward details of persons checked during patrolling to his office on regular basis.

SSP Islamabad and all zonal SPs, SDPOs and SHOs have taken their ‘Iftari refreshment’ with policemen performing duties at police pickets during the last two days. SSP (Operations) Sajid Kiani said that this gesture would continue for the whole month of Ramadan to boost the morale of the force so that they could serve citizens with more dedication.
