GUJRANWALA:

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Gujranwala indicted former Station House Officer (SHO) Shahzad Warraich-the key suspect in killings of two lawyers in the Daska incident.

Two lawyers, including the president of the local bar association, were killed by police during a clash on May 25 in Daska.

The case was heard in a courtroom in Central Jail Gujranwala. The former SHO was produced in the ATC today amidst strict security.

The court indicted Warraich under Sections 302, 324, 337D, 337A1 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and Sections 6 and 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).

Warriach denied the allegations and sought time from the ATC to appoint a lawyer to represent him.

The court will hear the plea on June 24.
