Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), which is investigating a fake degrees scandal in the country, will now probe degrees of its own employees.
Online has learnt that the watchdog has issued notification of degrees verification of FIA employees from Grade 5 to Grade 14. Establishment Additional Director Khizar Saleem Khokhar has issue notification in this regard.
According to sources, approximately 700 newly-appointed employees of FIA would undergo the verification process. During 2000 to 2015, around 1,500 employees were recruited in the watchdog.
The watchdog decided to verify degrees of its own employees after news came in limelight which suggested that degrees of employees of IBMS project were suspected.
Initially, FIA asked its employees and officers to submit their original degrees so these can be verified from HEC and local universities.
