Ramzan’s saviours – sasta bazaars

On the direction of Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, 331 Sastay Ramzan and model bazaars have been set up for providing special relief to the people during Ramzan-ul-Mubarak throughout the province where quality items will be available to the people at cheaper rates than the market.

Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will personally monitor Ramzan bazaars for ensuring sale of items at fixed prices and instructions have been issued to concerned departments, district administrations and other concerned officers of the province.

DCOs of all districts will personally supervise the process of auctioning of items in the markets and submit reports daily. Green channel fair price stalls have been set up by Agriculture Department where high quality vegetables and fruits will be available at the rates fixed by the government. Punjab government is giving a subsidy of billions of rupees for maintaining prices of edible items at reasonable rate and an amount of Rs 3.5 billion is being spent on the provision of flour at cheaper rate and 10 kg flour bag will be available at Rs 310 in Ramzan bazaar whereas it is being sold in open market at Rs 330. Similarly, sugar, ghee, daal gram, daal mash, chicken, gram flour, vegetables, fruits and other items will be available at concessionary rates. Complaint cells have also been set up in all Ramzan bazaars where consumers can get redressed their complaints immediately.

Walkthrough gates have been installed for effective security system and police officials have been deputed. Special teams have been constituted for checking the weight and measures which will take immediate action in case of complaint.

Best parking facility has been provided in Ramzan and model bazaars and duties have been assigned to traffic police officers and officials for keeping the flow of traffic smooth.

Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has directed all secretaries, senior officers and assembly members to visit Ramzan and model bazaars and ensure provision of fruits of historic Ramzan package given by Punjab government.
