PTI lashes out at govt for power outages

Khan accuses govt of backing electricity thieves while Sarwar demands govt apologises for outages in Ramzan

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Saturday termed unscheduled electricity load shedding in the country as deplorable and accused the federal government of supporting electricity thieves instead of nabbing them.

In a statement issued from Islamabad, Khan strongly condemned the ongoing power outages across the country in Ramzan and stated that the leadership of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) “does not feel the pain of the nation”.

The PTI chief said that the continuous electricity cut is government’s brutal act and demanded early detention of the culprits. He further said that the government should ensure uninterrupted power supply during the month of fasting.

In the meanwhile, PTI Punjab Organizer Chaudhary Muhammad Sarwar said the rulers should seek an apology from the nation over their complete failure in resolving the burning issues faced by the common man including electricity load shedding and price hike during Ramzan.

Talking to various delegations at his party office on Saturday, Sarwar said that it was unfortunate that the rulers had no vision to overcome the prevailing crises in the country including load shedding, price hike and unemployment and they were putting their main focus to complete their constitutional term. He added that the government must confess its failure for non redressal of the grievances of common man instead of giving them lame excuses.

Sarwar said that the rulers are used to giving aggressive statements on issues without considering the reality. He advised the government to assess the priority of the issues instead of making hollow statements to the public.

PTI leader said that the main responsibility of long hours of electricity load shedding during Ramzan lies with the government and they are in turn answerable to the common man. He was of the opinion that there would be no crises in the country if rulers had a vision and a strategy to deliver for the masses and not for themselves.
