Pak wants diplomatic solution to Yemen crisis: Mamnoon

President Mamnoon Hussain has unequivocally stated that Pakistan stands by Saudi Arabia and would not accept any move of the Houthi rebels.

In an interview from Medina, the president said Pakistan wants diplomatic solution of the Yemen crisis. He said a large Pakistani diaspora in Saudi Arabia serves as a bridge between the two countries. He said deep rooted relations between the two brotherly countries are based on strong foundations. He said Pakistani people have great love for the Haramain Shareefain.

He said he had several meetings with Saudi leaders and leaders of other countries when Yemen’s crisis began. The OIC recently had a meeting in Jeddah to affirm its support for the Kingdom. The Muslim world was hoping for a peaceful resolution to the situation, he said.

Hussein also praised King Salman for his services to pilgrims visiting the country for Haj and Umrah.

To a question, the president said law and order situation in Karachi has improved after the operation. He said Rangers and Sindh police will cleanse Karachi from criminals and extortionists.

About Kashmir issue, the president said both Pakistan and India will have to come to the negotiation table for resolution this issue.

Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain visited Roza-e-Rasool (PBUH) in Medina along with his family members. He offered prayers and Nawafil at Riazul Jannah and prayed for integrity and stability in the country.
