Announced and unscheduled electricity load shedding has forced the fasting people to remain confined to their homes in the scorching hot weather and use hand fans as SEPCO has announced 10-hours power outages daily besides two more hours which are consumed reportedly by the grid station incharge on feeder-2 on the pretext of tripping and other faults including overloading.
The announced schedule starts from 4am to 6 am, 8am to 10 am, 1pm to 3 pm, 5pm to 7 pm and 11pm to 1am, making total 10 hours, and this is being implemented on feeder-1 only whereas the same schedule applies to feeder-2 but there the SEPCO operation and grid station incharge resort to unannounced load shedding of over two hours on various accounts of overloading and faults which has virtually forced the fasting citizens to confine themselves to their home as the mercury on Saturday shot up to 48 degrees.
The residents have been demanding to put Naudero town on single feeder to end discrimination in power supply but their demand has fallen on deaf ears as the feeder-1 was created to benefit the influential political people which created a vacuum among them besides discrimination.
The demand of hand fans has also increased manifold and in many areas these are not available or are being sold on higher rates each at Rs20. Battery operated fans have also become useless as their batteries cannot be fully charged due to non-availability of power.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has announced not to carry out load shedding but it going on for more than usual timings in every part of the country including Larkana district. People have demanded stern action against corrupt WAPDA & SEPCO authorities as according to them they are involved in this massive outages and violation of PM directives.
