Patron-in-chief of Pakistan Hindu Council and MNA Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani has requested the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) to summon Chief Secretaries of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Sindh, and IG Sindh to appear in person before the court to inform what kind of measures has been taken for the protection of minorities.

Talking to media persons outside Supreme Court on Friday, Dr. Ramesh Kumar said that the issue of re-construction of the Hindu temple in Karak has still not been resolved, he said. “On the last date of hearing, the Supreme Court had given clear direction to provincial government to take administrative action for restoration of the temple within two weeks and in this regard, KPK provincial government had presented a written report on reconstruction but when I visited the Krishna Dawar Temple attached to Samadhi of Shiri Parm Hans Ji Mehraj one day ago, I came to know that all the walks through and ways to the Samadhi has been sealed by constructing a wall and still the possession of above said Temple is with the one Moulvi Iftikhar,” he regretted, while terming this a complete failure of provincial government.

Talking about the situation in Sindh, Dr. Ramesh expressed sorrow that another Hindu temple in Circuit House, Hyderabad came under attack recently. “The attack on Mata Mandir is clear violation of Minorities Rights and is against the Social, Moral, Political and Religious rights of Non-Muslims,” he said, adding that non-implementation of Security Plan in Sindh is main cause behind such types of incidents which are taking place on regular bases and due to which, the minorities are being suffering mental torture and agony. Dr. Ramesh was of the view that despite the specific orders directed many times by the honourable Supreme Court on June 19, 2014, November 25, December 16, January 13, February 11, March 12, April 16 and finally May 16, no positive step has been taken by the provincial administration.

On the occasion, he announced that a petition regarding this would be filed in the Supreme Court in next coming days.  He said that in the holy month of Ramadan, followers of all religions must join hands for ensuring a hate-free society.
