Load shedding in first Sehri exposes govt claims

KARACHI:

Despite tall claims by the government regarding interruption-free power supply during Sehri and Iftar timings, the very first dawn of the Holy Month of Ramzaan plunged into darkness in various areas across the country.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

Distressed by the prolonged spans of power outages, the distraught people took to streets in protest against the government in different cities including Swabi, Charsadda and Shabqadar.

In Sindh

Meantime, various areas of Karachi including Nazimabad, Azizabad Block-2, PIB Colony, Paposh Nagar, Gulzar-e-Hijri, Federal B. Area and Abbas Town remained plunged in dark posing troubles to people in Sehri arrangements.

In Punjab

Numerous areas of Lahore including Islampurah, Riwaz Garden, Sanda, China Scheme, Jauhar Town and Wapda Town also suffered load shedding woes during Sehri timings.

Similarly, various areas of Kasur, Multan and Attock also remained afflicted with power outages around Sehri time.

Nawaz-Led PML-N Government Fails To Keep Promise

Only a day before the beginning of the holy month, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif directed the authorities to ensure the uninterrupted power supply during Sehri and Iftar timings.
