National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has taken notice of alleged corruption of Rs2.5 billion in Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Islamabad.
Former Vice Chancellor AIOU Nazeer Ahmad, former Registrar Mohammad Bashir, Head of Physics Department Dr. Zafar Ilyas and Dr. A. Naeem of Social Sciences Department were found involved in the alleged corruption, said a press release issued by the NAB.
The accused have allegedly been found in embezzling funds for development work, discrepancies in recruitments and selling recycled papers.
The NAB chairman has directed Director General NAB Rawalpindi to investigate the matter and submit a report within seven days.
