As many as 70 police officers of Rawalpindi regional police who were promoted from Assistant Sub Inspectors (ASIs) to Sub-Inspectors 7 months ago have not been disbursed salary after the pay-rise.

70 ASIs of police from districts Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum and Chakwal were promoted to post of Sub Inspector on December 6, 2014 by a committee under DPO Dr Moin Masood and CPO Omar Hayat Lalika. Yet these newly promoted SIs have not been paid the salary of their post and still they are being disbursed salary of the post of  Assistant Sub Inspector.

Sources said that these newly promoted sub inspectors have expressed concern over inordinate delay in payment of salaries in their incumbent post. “We are government employees yet we cannot raise our voice over this injustice”, they added.

They appealed to the government to ensure disbursement of salary to them in their upgraded post of sub inspectors. “We are discharging the duty of SI but we are being paid the salary against the post of ASI.”, they said.
