‘Go Nawaz Go’ rocks Punjab Assembly once again!

All opposition parties have agreed to file an adjournment motion in the house against police crackdown against esteemed members of the assembly, said Punjab Assembly Opposition Leader and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Mehmoodur Rashid on Wednesday while talking to journalists on Wednesday.

Rashid said that the Punjab Police forcibly stopped the assembly members from participating in a protest rally at Faisal Square on the Mall Road.

He said police action against the members was against the law and constitution.

The PTI leader said that adjournment motion would be filed in the Assembly Secretariat within two-three days.

Earlier, opposition parties’ members staged a protest inside the house in wake of Model Town tragedy which left 14 people dead exactly one year back.

The opposition leader led protest and walked out from the session after chanting “Go Nawaz Go” slogans.

Members wearing black strips on their arms were stopped at the assembly’s main gate who were going to attend a protest rally on the Mall road.

Police blocked the gate with fences and MPA Asif Mahmood sustained injuries while crossing these hurdles.

After brawl with police, the members returned to assembly.
