The Punjab government has directed the Superintendents of Jail to make special arrangements for Sehr and Iftar of inmates across the province by providing them quality food including dates and fruits for Iftar.
According to Adiala Jail sources, necessary funds have been received for the purpose and they have ordered the contractors for the supply of chicken meat, vegetables, dates and other items.
The sources further said that they have estimated purchase of one lakh and thirty five thousand kilograms of chicken meat, one lakh three thousand kilograms of vegetables in addition to dates to meet the requirements of the inmates.
Additionally, several philanthropists have also offered to provide Iftar items at Adiala Jail.
