Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information and Higher Education Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani on Wednesday said that tripartite alliance of the provincial assembly has become more active against local government system because it has been allocated Rs 42 billion in the 2015-16 Budget.

Addressing the award distribution ceremony of the Sports Writers Association, the provincial minister said that the members of tripartite alliance were status conscious and therefore devolution of power at lower level.

The Minister said that the leaders of tripartite alliance were not against the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf; instead they were against the people friendly policies of PTI in the province as they did not deliver during their tenures in the past.

Mushtaq Ahmad Ghani said the KP Government had drafted local bodies system and would resolve the issue of the masses at their doorstep. He added that the provincial government was moving ahead in right direction and all the decisions are being taken on merit.

The minister said that the provincial government has presented a revolutionary welfare budget for the fiscal year 2015-16 and increased it manifold.

The minister added that the volume of the Annual Development program (ADP) has increased to Rs. 170 billion and a considerable relief has also been ensured for the welfare of government servants and pensioners in the budget by increasing their salaries and allowances by10%, even though it would put an extra burden of Rs. 20 billion on the government exchequer.
