Sub-inspector Riaz Mughal, 45, was posted at the Clifton Police Station. He was shot dead by unidentified armed motorcyclists near his residence in Al Sadat Chowk. Abid Akhtar, a 25-year-old passerby, was also wounded in the attack. Both men were taken to the Civil Hospital, Karachi where the police officer succumbed to his wounds.
