Kerry praises PM Nawaz’s policy against terror

ISLAMABAD: 

US Secretary of State John Kerry telephoned Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday evening, conveying him best wishes and regards from the US administration, it has been learnt.

Secretary Kerry commended the state of relations between the two countries and said that both had made remarkable progress in cooperation in all fields, according to reports.

He appreciated PM’s counterterrorism policy and his strong resolve and determination to defeat terrorism.

During their warm and friendly exchanges on the regional situation, Secretary Kerry lauded Prime Minister Nawaz’s commitment towards establishing a peaceful neighbourhood in South Asia.

PM Nawaz stated that Pakistan attaches high importance to enhancing ties with the United States of America. He expressed satisfaction over the bilateral ties between the two countries, and referred to the fact that there is a national consensus in Pakistan over counter terrorism.
