SKMCH & RC plan further expanison

Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre (SKMCH &RC) has launched its fund raising campaign as the holy month of Ramzan is inching closer.

Dr Faisal Sultan, CEO of SKMCH &RC held a press conference on Monday to brief the media about the upcoming projects and previous achievements made by the hospital. According to Dr Sultan, “Shaukut Khanum needs Rs 3.6 billion this year in Zakat and donations to keep the hope of cancer patients alive.”

The SKMCH &RC intends to open another cancer hospital for patients in December this year. This project has cost Rs 3.8 billion till date and now latest medical equipment is needed for its inception.

The milestones achieved by the SKMCH &RC in the past 12 months include a diagnostic centre in Karachi, construction of four new surgical operation theatres in Lahore, Shaukat Khanum walk-in clinic in Multan and a diagnostic laboratory in Rahim Yar Khan. At this time, SKMCH &RC has 95 collection centres in 45 cities and towns in Pakistan.

“Every year we start our fund raising campaign in of Ramzan and receive laudable response from the people .We hope that this year people will render their donations to us that will be efficiently used for the deserving patients,” Tazeen Qureshi, deputy manager media marketing told Pakistan Today on the ocassion.
