The interior ministry has directed the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration and the capital police to devise a comprehensive plan for security of mosques and imambargahs during Ramzan
On the directives of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, the ministry has written a letter to the ICT administration and the police directing them to put in place a comprehensive and foolproof security plan for security of 720 mosques, 39 imambargahs and churches in the jurisdiction of the federal capital.
After completing a survey of mosques and imambargahs situated in the capital, Islamabad Police will conduct search operations in their surrounding areas during Ramzan.
The interior ministry has also directed Rescue 15 to be more efficient. Additionally, the ministry has also ordered the deployment of Quick Response Force personnel to react to any emergency promptly.
According to sources, the police security at entry and exits points of the city will be enhanced and more security personnel will be deployed to avoid any untoward incidents, the sources said.
