The customs court Rawalpindi on Monday extended the judicial remand of Ayyan Ali till June 29 following the judge’s inability to make it to the court because of the lawyers’ strike.

On Monday, when the model reached the court, it turned out that the judge did not turn up for hearing.

Ayyan, who has been facing money-laundering charges and is incarcerated in Adiala jail, has been sent on judicial remand nine times previously after she was taken into custody from the Benazir Bhutto International Airport. The model was brought to the court under strict security in an armoured personnel carrier vehicle.
