ISLAMABAD:
The Senate is likely to take up Pakistan Rangers, Sindh’s statement that Rs230 billion is generated annually in Karachi through activities such as extortion, smuggling and land grabbing, resulting in financing terrorism and other criminal activities.
The issue has been placed as a priority in the agenda for the day’s proceedings, according to sources.
“In fact, when the statement came on Friday (in the newspapers), I moved an adjournment motion the same day because I believed that the issue was important and it should be discussed in the parliament,” Senator Farhatullah Babarsaid while talking to Dawn on Sunday.
