Two Ferrari rebel commanders along with their 57 associates laid down their arms and surrendered before provincial minister and PML-N Balochistan President Sanaullah Zehri on Sunday.
The commanders, who gave up fighting are Din Jan alias Miran Muhammad Hasni and Ubaidullah alias Babrik.
Addressing a press conference in Khuzdar, Zehri asked disgruntled Balochs fighting the state to return from the mountains, saying that the enemies of Pakistan were inciting Baloch youth to insurgence in the name of freedom.
“Disgruntled Baloch are our brethren and they should give up arms and return from the mountains. We will welcome them,” he said, urging the Baloch youths to play their role in the national mainstream. He asked Baloch youth not to fall prey to anti-Pakistan propaganda of certain anti-country elements. The minister said Baloch youth are being provoked against Pakistan in the name of independence.
Speaking on the occasion, one of the surrendered commanders Babrak said he will live as a peaceful citizen and condemned the killing of twenty labourers in Khuzdar. He said anti-Pakistan elements are pushing Baloch youth into the darkness in the name of independence.
Commanders who surrendered said that they had made a mistake by fighting against their own country. “Now Nawab Sanaullah Zehri has showed us good path and we would play role of patriotic people,” Babrik said.
Another BLA commander Miran said he is abandoning the so-called war and wants to join mainstream.
Zehri has asked Brahamdagh Bugti and Harbiyar Marri to return to country and join national mainstream. Present government would provide facilities and security to those who surrender weapons, he said.
Zehri further said that the decision of commanders of laying down their weapons is good sign. “We congratulate them and hope their remaining accomplices who were fighting against the State would take a decision and soon join national mainstream,” he said.
He said India was instigating the Baloch by committing interference in the province. He condemned India’s interference and said that that 180 million people and armed forces of Pakistan are prepared to defend their motherland. He further added that if any one dared to cast evil eye on the country, Pakistanis would reply them befittingly.
Sunday’s development comes 10 days after Wali Mohammad alias Haji Kalati, a key leader of the banned United Baloch Army (UBA), surrendered to authorities along with 50 supporters.
