‘Save the Children’ allowed to resume operations

ISLAMABAD:

Days after Islamabad sealed the offices of International NGO ‘Save the Children’, the interior ministry has allowed the INGO to resume its operations in Pakistan, according to sources.

STC was previously accused of involvement with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Dr. Shakeel Afridi was accused of tracking down the whereabouts of Osama Bin Laden in Abbottabad.

“The organisation [Save the Children] can continue its work in Pakistan as it has been doing for decades until any further orders,” a senior official of interior Ministry said.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar stated that the government was working on streamlining the operations of NGOs working in the country to regulate their activities.
