MQM workers ‘honey bees’, not flies: Pervaiz Rashid

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) workers are not flies, they are ‘honey bees’, said Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Saturday while talking to journalists after presiding over a meeting of the Iqbal Academy’s Board of Governors.

The minister said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was only quoting someone else.

He further said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan should focus on Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP) instead of criticising others.

“I think Imran Khan should become the chief minister of KP because the people of KP had voted for him and it is his duty to solve their problems,” he added.

The federal minister said that the prime minister has been taking everyone along.

“The prime minister didn’t say anything that someone would find objectionable. One thing is clear, MQM workers have become fond of honey,” he said.

Talking about the threatening statements given by the Indian government officials and Pakistan’s response, Rashid said that the Modi-led government has shamed India across the globe.

“Pakistan is not a kind of country that would succumb to mere threats,” he cleared.

He said that it was Pakistan’s right to raise its voice on international forums regarding the threatening statements made by the Indian leadership.
