PTI asks JC to formally launch probe of poll rigging

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday wrote a pressing letter to the Judicial Commission, asking it to formally launch an investigation into rigging allegations for the 2013 General Election.

The letter said that even the ongoing argument between PTI and ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was about to end, but the process of investigation was still pending.

Former cricket star Imran Khan’s party further said that use of additional ballot papers in certain constituencies has been proven now besides missing Form-15s from the polling bags. “Therefore, the judicial commission should now launch a formal probe into poll rigging according to the presidential ordinance,” it added.

Following disclosure of key evidence regarding poll rigging, the judicial commission should launch a transparent probe of each constituency through Returning Officers (ROs).

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) should also be probed regarding its silence over missing Form-15s in its pre-scan report, said the PTI letter.
