A labourer was critically injured after an influential landlord unleashed dogs at him for failure to comply with directives of ‘Panchayat’ (local jirga).
A panchayat in village Sanko of Dharaki, district Ghotki, had imposed a fine of Rs 400,000 and giving two young girls in ‘Wani” to a labourer namely Wazir over ‘Karokari’ charges some 10 days ago. However, the poor labourer failed to comply with the decision of the local jirga after which the influential landlord unleashed dogs at him which injured him critically. The influential landlord forbade people not to approach and assist the badly bitten labourer and shifting him to a hospital.
The mother of the victim labourer told media that the landlord had stopped the local people from shifting Wazir to hospital and the doctors in the locality to treat him. She appealed the federal and provincial governments for taking notice of the incident and directed strict action against the culprits involved in inhumane and brutal act.
