Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that a special package has been devised to provide relief to people in Ramzan.
He said that in order to provide quality flour to the masses at concessionary rate in Ramzan Bazaars, a subsidy of Rs 3.5 billion has been announced. He said that the benefit of Ramzan Package should reach the people in the real sense and no laxity will be tolerated in this regard. He said that he will personally supervise the measures taken under Ramzan Package to provide relief to the citizens.
Issuing instructions to provincial price control committee and administration, the chief minister directed that in view of arrival of Ramzan, effective measures should be taken beforehand for the provision of quality essential items, fruits and vegetables to the citizens and interest of the masses should be protected. He said that all concerned departments and institutions should work actively for providing relief to the people.
Shahbaz Sharif directed that vigorous action should be taken against the elements involved in hoarding and profiteering. He said that interest of the people is of utmost importance and he will not allow anyone to exploit the citizens in the form of profiteering. He directed that concerned institutions should ensure that the benefits of Ramzan Package should reach the common man in the real sense.
Shahbaz Sharif said that provision of quality essential items to the masses at the fixed rate is the responsibility of concerned institutions and no laxity or negligence will be tolerated in this regard. He further directed that besides ensuring quality of essential items, fruits and vegetables, their availability to the citizens at reasonable rates should also be ensured and regular visits should be paid to the markets for this purpose. He directed that district price control committees set up in the province should keep a watchful eye on the prices and quality of essential commodities. He said that the problems of the common man cannot be realized while sitting in air-conditioned rooms therefore, there is a need to come into the field for providing relief to the masses.
Shahbaz Sharif said that implementation of the comprehensive mechanism will be ensured for stabilising the prices of necessary items in Ramzan. He said that all necessary measures should be taken for facilitating the citizens in Ramzan Bazaars as provision of relief to the common man is a national and religious obligation.
Meanwhile, a seven-member delegation of Chinese investors called on Shahbaz Sharif and discussed Matters regarding investment in information technology, infrastructure, logistic and other sectors.
Talking to Chinese delegation, the chief minister said that highly conducive atmosphere for investment has been created in the province and all necessary facilities are being provided to the investors under one roof. He said that Punjab Investment Board is playing an active role for resolution of problems of investors and providing them necessary facilities. He said that Chinese investment in different sectors in Punjab will be welcomed and all out cooperation will be extended.
