Muthidda Quami Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain has said that the MQM is a peace-loving party. “We are continuing our struggle in a peaceful manner.
We respect all and desire that other treat us in the same manner. Our existence should be accepted, and we should be treated equally,” he while addressing students who had gathered at Nine Zero for celebrating the 37th Foundation Day of the APMSO. Members of the MQM Co-ordination Committee were also present on the occasion.
Talking to the students Hussain said, “There is a dearth of people in Pakistan who can speak the truth. One cannot find truthful people the bureaucracy, establishment or among politicians even if one tries.”
“When I speak the truth and talk plainly about the Establishment, Police, Rangers, Bureaucracy, and Administration, we have to face misuse of power. Our workers are arrested, and if they are not found, their brothers and elders are arrested. MQM workers are tortured in custody and killed extrajudicially.”
“I have criticized the rulers, establishment and other institutions, but I have never abused the army or anyone else. A ban has been imposed on my addresses on television channels on false pretexts.
“MQM and Altaf Hussain are vilified whenever anything happens in Karachi. Several incidents of violence occurred in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the local government elections. Several people died, and many others received bullet injuries. But no politician in KPK was abused in talk shows.”
“The establishment failed to see the use of latest weapons used during the local government elections in KPK.”
“Feudal lords in Punjab make an open display of weapons in their homes, but it is called their culture. Mohajirs are not allowed to keep weapons for their protection. Their houses are ransacked on the pretext of recovering weapons. They are implicated in false cases.”
“The Supreme Court of Pakistan had talked about the existence of militant wings in all political parties while hearing the Karachi Lawlessness case. An operation was started in Karachi but have workers of political parties other than MQM arrested so far?”
“Thousands of MQM workers have been killed extrajudicially for no crime. No one is there to give us justice. We firmly believe that the curse of Allah would fall on those who have killed innocent people.”
“Time will come when the government functionaries responsible for the killing of innocent MQM workers will be dealt with by the principle of Qisas as laid down in the Holy Quran. Family members would be free to accept Diyat or forgive if they want.”
Mr Hussain asked the workers to continue their struggle peacefully. “We have the right to defend ourselves according to the UN Charter and the Holy Quran if anyone wants to eliminate us.”
