Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday ordered the district government to build at least 12 helipads at various sites across the city in a bid to aid his monitoring visits to newly-setup Ramzan Bazaars across Lahore.

According to reports, the bazaars have been set-up for the provision of cheap goods to people during the holy month of Ramzan. The Punjab government is spending at least Rs3.5 billion alone to provide subsidy on wheat flour during the holy month. The bazaars would also feature 333 fair price shops where fruits and vegetables would be available at subsidised rates.

With a cost of around Rs 14.4 million, the helipads will be built in various areas including Women Cricket Academy, Model Town, Sharif Medical City Ground Jati Umra and others to facilitate the monitoring visits of the CM.
