Pakistan has strong potential to grow and nurture business: speakers

Pakistan has a strong potential to grow and nurture business in the country and what is needed in real term is a strong will, passion and hard work to ensure growth.

This was stated during the speeches delivered at LCCI second conference on “international business challenges and successes” at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Tuesday.

LCCI President Ijaz A Mumtaz, Senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir, Vice President Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi, CEO Interwood Mobel Omer Farooq, Group CFO Treet Corporation Amir Zia, Chief Executive Netsol Technologies Salim Ullah Ghauri and former LCCI President Sohail Lashari were the key speakers.

Speaking on the occasion, LCCI President Ijaz A Mumtaz said the theme of the conference was to let the young and emerging entrepreneurs learn from the knowledge and experience of seasoned international and national business leaders who were running their companies successfully in Pakistan.

He said they valued their young brains, had full faith in the abilities and talent of youth. He said they were confident that they, under the guidance of seniors, could deal with any kind of challenges. It is a need of the hour that young entrepreneurs should be brought into mainstream of businesses as it will let them discover their strong and weak areas.

Ijaz A Mumtaz said the country was in dire need of innovative entrepreneurs. He said there was no dearth of resources in the country but only thing that had kept it behind in a number of economic sectors is the unawareness about the latest business techniques and methodologies.

LCCI Senior Vice President Mian Nauman Kabir said that young entrepreneurs had to be organised for a successful business. It would help them to stay on top of things to be done. He said almost everywhere in the world, Pakistanis were at the top positions because they were very hard working and foreigners love to work with them.

He said that risk was name of the game as far as entrepreneurship was concerned but the ultimate winners are those who learn from their mistakes and adopt corrective measure without any loss of time.

Nauman Kabir said they had 60 per cent youth population in Pakistan, if 25 per cent or more become entrepreneurs; they can become the assets of Pakistan for creating job opportunities.

CEO Interwood Mobel Omer Farooq said there was no institution in Pakistan to provide trained manpower to the furniture industry. The government should plan the establishment of such training institutions, he added.
