The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a notice to the federation, Interior Ministry, FIA, Federal Service Commission and others in case filed against illegal and political appointments in FIA, and sought a reply from them.

A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up for hearing case filed by Assistant Director FIA, Bilal Aslam Khan and others Monday.

Syed Khawar Amin Bokhari counsel for the petitioners appeared in the court and took the plea that FIA is the only institution in the country which works for elimination of crimes, curbing corruption and rule of law  but this institution has now been politicized.

He further said so many officers have been appointed against the posts of deputy director and assistant director in FIA holding any examination and against the norms of merit.

He argued as per law a grade 16 or 17 officer is appointed after taking examination under Federal Service Commission. But dozens of recruitments have been made on  political affiliations in FIA.

As many as 11 officers of FIA including Assistant Director Bilal Aslam Khan have filed a petition under number 1801/215 making respondents federation, secretary interior ministry, secretary establishment division, director general FIA, six assistant directors FIA and a deputy director FIA.
