Three ‘most wanted terrorists’ arrested in Quetta

The Quetta Police have arrested three most wanted terrorists from Eastern Bypass area of the provincial capital allegedly involved in attacks on Khalid and PAF Airbases and targeted killing incidents.

This was disclosed by Home Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti who along with Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Quetta, Abdul Razzaq Cheema was addressing a press conference at CCPO Office, here on Monday.

He said, “Following intelligence information, Quetta police raided a Eastern Bypass area of the provincial capital at 4am on Monday morning and arrested three terrorists who belonged to a banned militant organization.

Sarfraz Bugti said that the arrested accused were involved in heinous crimes including attacks on Khalid and PAF Airbases, targeted killing of police, bomb blasts, police encounters and murder.

The Home Minister said that earlier, law and order situation was improved to satisfactory level but once again violence was triggered in Balochistan after Pak-China Economic Corridor Project was announced.

“Enemies of Pakistan were hatching conspiracies to damage peace, triggering violence and creating unrest in Balochistan,” he said.

Sarfraz Bugti said that the arrested accused were identified as Ali Gul, of whom head money was Rs 01 million, adding that eight cases were registered against him including targeted killing, police encounters and recovery of weapons and ammunition.

He said that another accused was recognized as Rehman Wali, of whom head money was Rs 500,000. “FIRs were registered against him including attacks on Khalid Airbase and PAF Airbase,” he said. The third accused identified as Zafrullah was wanted in nine cases including murder and recovery of weapons.

CCPO Quetta, Abdul Razzaq Cheema said that two constables who were deputed on circular road Quetta for security of Hazara traders have been arrested for negligence of duty as they did not take action against the targeted killers who shot killed Hazara traders last Sunday.

“We had provided police security to 300 shops of Hazara traders in main city areas, but the two security constables deployed for the purpose showed negligence and did not perform their due duty when the armed men attacked the shop on Circular road,” he said.
