Put women to work, they’re 50 per cent of your population!

Pakistani women have been playing an effective and assertive role in every field, which is a welcome development, said Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan.

Speaking at a seminar on the role of women arranged by the Activity Club at a local hotel, he said the government should enact laws to further expand the role of women in society. He said Pakistan would progress and prosper rapidly when the women, who make up 50 per cent of the national population, would play an active role in every field of the economy. He said compared to the women of other countries the Pakistani women have even more talent.

Activity Club President Noreen Nadeem said they have been taking efforts to solve the problems of women. She said arranging these activities is aimed at encouraging women to venture into all spheres of life. It would also help in finding and grooming their talents. She hoped that the seminar would bring very positive results.

Italian doctor Dr. Zsuzsanna Fajcsak spoke on the importance of herbal and alternative medicine, saying that these cost-effective therapies are very helpful in fighting with joint pain, waist pain and other ailments suffered by women.

Ghazala Khan spoke on the benefits of yoga. She said yoga helps in fighting with obesity and other health-related issues for women.

Asif Khan spoke on the importance of solar energy. He said present electricity load shedding crisis could be overcome if we use solar energy in every home, office and workplace.

Aneeba Nazar gave a lecture on fashion designing. She said Pakistan, especially the Karachi city, is witnessing new trends of fashion designing, adding that our fashion designers have successfully proved their talent to the whole world. She said that the fashion designing sector in Pakistani is on the path of rapid progress.

Karachi Tajir Ittehad chairman Atiq Mir said women have been playing a vital role in banking, fashion designing, jewelry making, sports, handicrafts and other sectors. He said in the business sector women have also been playing a pivotal role.

Activity Club vice president Syed Nadeem Ahmed Rizvi said that their club believes in promoting the talent that women have. He said that everyone has praised the talent of Pakistani women as they have immense potential in every field.

On the occasion, Sheerin Gul, Quratul Aein, FaizaAthar, Ghulam Abbas Soomro, Sumera Erum, Shazia, Saima, Mahrukh Junaid, Aneela Shaukat, Muneeza Iqbal, Yasmeen Kiran and others were present.
