In his keynote address at the 62nd Annual Dinner of The Pakistan Society in London, Pakistan High Commissioner to the UK Syed Ibne Abbas has said Pakistan expects understanding and support from friend countries like the UK in defeating extremism and terrorism from its soil.
Appreciating the work of the Pakistan Society, the high commissioner said, “We realise the importance of developing understanding and co-operation between our countries and peoples and further broadening this relationship not only through diplomacy but in trade, education, culture, arts and tourism. The focused and tireless efforts of the pioneers and members of The Pakistan Society over the years have helped those bonds flourish from strength to strength.”
The high commissioner further said, “Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah was called to the English Bar by Linclon’s Inn which reminds us of yet another important historical linkage between our two nations.”
