GUJRANWALA:
The assassins of Rana Shamshad, an MPA of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) from Gujranwala, have been arrested late Saturday, authorities stated.
According to police sources, police, moving on the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif, arrested the accused Naveed along with his three accessories.
Police said the proclaimed offenders hailed from Patwari group.
It should be mentioned here that Rana Shamshad was assassinated along with his son and an aide in an apparent incident of targeted killing on Sunday (May 31).
The PML-N leader, who was aboard a black car on his way back from his farmhouse in Kamoke, Gujranwala, was ambushed near Raja Bhaley by masked gunmen, according to sources.
