Another convicted prisoner was executed in Kot Lakhpat Jail in the wee hours of Wednesday.
The convict, Javed alias Jeeda had killed two persons, Qasim and Siddiqui, in Cantt Kutcheri area of the city on September19, 1987. The trial court had awarded him death sentence twice in 1989. The court issued death warrants of Javed after his mercy plea was rejected by the president.
Meanwhile, death warrants of three prisoners of Adiala Jail were suspended on the order of sessions judge Chakwal.
All the arrangements were made for hanging Javed Sultan, Muhammad Rafiq and Ikram Hussain in Adiala Jail Rawalpindi.
The court issued orders to suspend the death warrants after the parties settled the matter.
