PTI will have to answer for botched by polls, say Opp parties

The members of the opposition parties on Monday accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf for making poor security arrangements and mismanaging the local government elections 2015, and demanded re-polling in areas where rigging allegations were reported.

They said Imran Khan must come to Peshawar and hold a sit-in in front of Chief Minister House against reports of rigging, mismanagement and violence in KP LG elections 2015. It was the responsibility of the PTI govt to provide foolproof security to the voters but improper security arrangements have marred the LG elections in KP.

PML-N leader and Member Provincial Assembly, Akbar Hayatullah Khan said that it was the most mismanaged elections in the history of province as nine people were killed and over 80 were injured in election related violence across the province.

The deaths of innocent people were reported during the polling process in Charsadda, DI Khan, Kohat Peshawar and other areas as polling had to be stopped at many areas owing to improper polling and security arrangements.

Incidence of violence, clashes and firing during the poling process were reported from all most all the districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa yet Charsadda, DI Khan Kohat and Peshawar remained hard hit.

The PML(N) leader said that improper security arrangements and shortage of security personals, especially the women police, was witnessed at many polling stations and voters suffered immensely.

He said members of the civil society, educationists, and the legal fraternity held the LG elections 2015 as the most mismanaged elections in the province.

Qumi Watan Party leader and MPA Bakht Baider Khan also expressed dissatisfaction over the arrangements made for LG elections by PTI Govt and demanded re-polling under judiciary and army arrangements.

“It was the most mismanaged election in KP history,” he said and demanded an enquiry of the rigging elections complaints.  He said corruption and criminal cases against PPP Leader Liauqat Shabab and ANP General Secretary Mian Iftikhar Hussain was primarily based on political victimisation and remind us of an era of dictatorship.

He suggested Imran Khan to come to Peshawar and hold a sit-in in front of the Chief Minister House after reports of rigging, mismanagement and bloody violence during the LG elections in KP.

The QWP leader said no one would have raised questions on election results had district, tehsil and village councils elections been held on separate dates under the supervision of judicial officers, and under the security of the army.
