The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued a notice to the federation and summoned all records of the transfer of  an investigation against former CIA chief, and drones, was moved to FATA.

A single bench of IHC comprising Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up the case for hearing Tuesday.

Shahzad Akbar advocate counsel for petitioner Karim Khan appeared in the court and took the plea that under the court’s orders a case was registered against the former chief of CIA and others in the Secretariat police station over the killings in the drone attacks that hit Mir Ali. However, the legal branch of police has issued directives for transferring the investigation of case to FATA. This act indicates a malafide intention  as the FIR has been registered in Islamabad therefore, its investigation should be conducted here.

Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Hasnain Ibrahim Kazmi while opposing the plea said that incident had taken place in FATA, therefore, the investigation was to be conducted therein. No notice has been received by the federation as a reply.

The court while summoning all records from the federation adjourned the hearing of the case till June 25, 2015.

Through this petition, IG Islamabad and SHO Police station Secretariat have been made respondents.
