Doctors at the Casualty Department, Civil Hospital resorted to boycotting their duties on Monday after one of their colleagues was manhandled by attendants of a patient on the previous night.
The doctor demanded immediate and round the clock security in all wards of the hospital, particularly in the Emergency and Accident Department, as well as at the Casualty Ward, and said that their security should be accorded due priority by the hospital administration.
Later on persuasion of the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Said Qureshi, they went back to work and said that providing the needed medical assistance to the patients is their job, however, their rights must also be protected.
