Court grants Zulfiqar Mirza permission to travel abroad

The District and Sessions Court on Monday granted former Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza permission to travel abroad.

In an application, Mirza requested the court that he should be allowed to travel abroad on account of medical treatment. After listening to the counsel’s arguments, the court granted former home minister permission to travel abroad.

An anti-terrorism court (ATC) had reserved on Saturday its order on Mirza’s bail confirmation in the Darakhshan police station’s case till June 10, 2015, after hearing arguments from both the sides.

The disgruntled leader of Pakistan People’s Party was booked in mid-May for threatening and harassing police personnel as he went to the Darakhshan police station to record his statement on court orders.

Since the registration of the case, the accused remained on bail as he approached the Sindh High Court the very next day, seeking protection from being arrested.

Meanwhile, he was also granted an extension on bail in four other cases registered against him earlier this month at a Badin police station by the ATC-I, until the same date.
